The Suzhou Conference on Development of Innovation Consortiums cum Seminar on Interventional Medical Technology was held at the global headquarters of Peijia Medical in SIP on Nov 7, bringing together participants from government departments, industries, academia and research institutes to deepen collaboration in innovation and accelerate the integration of R&D with application.

Suzhou took the lead in Jiangsu province to pioneer the innovation consortium model in 2022, aiming to promote enterprise-led, market-oriented industry-university-research cooperation. As an innovation hub of Suzhou, SIP has seen the establishment of one Yangtze River Delta-level, four provincial-level and 28 municipal-level innovation consortiums, accounting for nearly 30% of the city’s total. These innovation consortiums are driving breakthroughs in medical engineering, AI, new materials and other emerging sectors.

At the event, eight innovation consortiums were declared exemplary innovation consortiums of Suzhou for their replicable models and remarkable outcomes. Four of them are based in SIP, namely the interventional medical technology innovation consortium led by Peijia Medical, the AI language computing innovation consortium led by AIspeech, the innovation consortium led by Ascentage Pharma for discovering new tumor targets and new drugs and the large-sized silver-free battery full chain technology and equipment innovation consortium led by RoboTechnik.

During the event, several enterprises and research organizations signed agreements to carry out collaboration in making innovations in cutting-edge technologies.
