Ao Ran, executive vice chairman and secretary general of the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association (CADPA), shared his insights into the future of China’s game IP ecosystem in an exclusive interview when attending the 2025 Game IP Ecosystem Conference in SIP.

Ao said the ACGN (Animation, Comic, Game and Novel) derivative products shopping called “goods economy” is burgeoning, with a global operating income exceeding RMB100 billion, and expounded on the significance of fostering a good intellectual property ecosystem for related industries.
Ao offered suggestions of paths that ACGN companies could take to develop competitive products based on their intellectual properties, such as establishing deep emotional connections with consumers and running theme entertainment parks.

Ao also shared the successful cases of Nintendo, Bandai Namco and the Honor of Kings in extending business chains, and presented his views on the future game IP ecosystem, emphasizing the cultural value in IPs and open collaboration with the industrial ecosystem.
