The Jiangnan Folklife Museum recently opened at the Harmony Times Square in SIP. The museum, free to the public, aims to preserve memories of the past and promote local folk culture.

The museum houses thousands of exhibits, all donated by alumni of Suzhou No. 3 Middle School and others. The exhibits, dating from the late 1940s to the early 21st century, vividly embody the essence of urban and rural life in Suzhou.
Among the exhibits are furniture, everyday use articles, and replicas of old barber’s shop, photo studio and street stalls, each bearing memories of the ordinary people’s lives.

A specially designed Jiangnan water town scene, with a fishing boat, fishing tools, and embroidery, visually demonstrates the traditional “men farming and women weaving” lifestyle.
