An event was held in SIP on Dec 3 to celebrate the long-term cooperation between China and Switzerland in healthcare and also the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Roche Diagnostics’ Suzhou branch in SIP.

Roche Diagnostics, a division of Swiss biotech company Roche, set up its first manufacturing facility in SIP in 2015, and since then has added investments in the park several times. The company is building a new manufacturing and R&D site in SIP with its largest ever single investment in China.

At the event, Suzhou Center for Disease Prevention and Control and Roche Diagnostics signed an agreement to set up a shared lab.

Roche Diagnostics unveiled the LightCycler@PRO system manufactured in SIP. This product integrates innovative technology and Roche manufacturing to deliver accurate real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) results and an improved user experience for labs.

During the event, representatives from enterprises, government departments and other organizations exchanged opinions on localization and supply chain resilience in the healthcare sector, and innovative practices of balancing technology, patient benefits, and regulation.
The Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SwissCham China) launched the 2025-2026 Innovation Day series to facilitate exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Swiss enterprises.
